In 2019 I realised that I'd been teaching amazing young people for a while and offering many LAMDA sessions amongst other lessons, and that was when I decided to form Madden Theatre Arts and keep everything under one roof as it were! It was the best decision I ever made and I haven't looked back since. I absolutely love what I do and feel very fortunate to be surrounded by so many fun and eager to learn, enthusiastic people.
It gives me so much pleasure and joy to see people succeed whatever their goals!
My main aim has always been for my students to take great pride in what they're doing, gain skills and above all - have fun! It has been incredibly rewarding to see amazing results from all the excellent work that is being produced by my students week in week out. I have received excellent exam results over the past few years and I held really successful LAMDA Spring Showcases for the past three years. They are a firm date in the MTA calendar! This is an opportunity for family and friends to come and watch their child perform their best piece of work to a live audience. We then always mingle in the foyer for tea, coffee and cake afterward to celebrate all the brilliant performances. We also raise money for a different charity each year.
So far we've raised money for Yes to Life, Mind and Calm Zone.
It has been so satisfying seeing and hearing about students thriving in everyday situations as well as taking great leaps in the performing arts. Knowing that children's confidence is growing in their social lives and in classroom situations is always so fantastic to hear. For some, performing may end up being their chosen career path, but not all, however knowing I'll have had an impact on their growth is a great feeling. I'm so grateful to meet every student that comes on to my screen or walk through my door as all exposure to boosting confidence, courage and curiosity is a positive one. The skills learnt in our sessions are stepping stones to which ever path the student takes.
At Madden Theatre Arts, I am incredibly passionate about ensuring every student feels empowered and excited about their journey into the performing arts, whether it be to improve their speech quality, boost their confidence or to work on their drama skills. They will be able to do it in a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive no matter what the goal.
